Chairman & Chief Executive Officer
Joe Ewart established New Era Technology and continues to lead the expansion of the business into international markets around the world. Joe has grown New Era Technology into a leading technology solutions provider, offering end-to-end IT solutions to the corporate, state and local government, education, and healthcare markets.
He has served as Chief Executive Officer of the Editure Group, a global education technology company that was sold to private equity investors. Before that, he worked in the financial services industry for seventeen years, holding senior positions at Goldman Sachs Australia, Deutsche Bank Securities, BT Wolfensohn, Bankers Trust and Arthur Andersen.
He holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Sydney, a master’s degree from the University of New South Wales, a graduate diploma in applied finance and is a Chartered Accountant.
James Rich is a Managing Director of Gemini Investors. Since joining the firm in 2000, Jimmy has been actively involved in investing Gemini’s three most recent funds, during which time Gemini has completed over 75 transactions. He has played a lead role in over 20 of these investments and has served on the Board of Directors of over 15 Gemini portfolio companies.
In addition to the expertise he has developed in the education and waste industries, he has also led investments in software, manufacturing, and distribution. Prior to joining Gemini, Jimmy was a Senior Associate at Citizens Energy where he concentrated on business development initiatives. He began his career as an Analyst in the investment banking group at J.P. Morgan, where he focused on mergers and acquisitions and capital raising for consumer businesses. Jimmy holds a bachelor’s degree from Dartmouth College.
Rob Menn is a Principal of Gemini Investors. Rob joined Gemini in 2007 and has helped complete over 20 transactions for the firm in a variety of industry sectors. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of 8 Gemini portfolio companies. Previously, he worked in the investment banking division at RBC Capital Markets where he focused on mergers and acquisitions, public equity financings, and private placements in the technology sector. Rob received his B.S. degree from Tufts University.
Stephen Chang is the Managing Director of LBCW Investments. He spent 13 years in investment banking prior to his current role, primarily focused on M&A, special situations and structured solutions at Citigroup, Deutsche Bank, and BT Wolfensohn. Stephen was a Director and Vice President in Investment Banking at Citigroup. Prior to that he was a Vice President in investment banking at Deutsche Bank Securities, and an Associate in investment banking at BT Wolfensohn.
Prior to investment banking, Stephen also founded and successfully sold two private engineering software concerns to public companies. He is a non-executive director of Editure Group. He holds a bachelor’s degree cum laude in Applied Mathematics from Harvard University and an MBA in Finance from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
Michael Boettcher became CEO of Advanced AV in 2009. During his tenure, Advanced AV has transitioned from the traditional design-build integrator model into a service-oriented one with a full range of managed service offerings. This critical shift has led to significant growth and achievements for the company, including recognition as a Top 50 Systems Integrator by SCN and an Industry Leader by Commercial Integrator. Advanced AV also received InfoComm’s elite APEx certification for industry excellence.
Michael is an InfoComm member and an InfoComm Certified Technology Specialist (CTS). He is a member of the NSCA Board of Directors and has been recognized by NCSA as an “Industry Mover & Shaker.” He holds a bachelor of science in business administration from Villanova University, where he was a student athlete in the baseball program.
