The Client was using disparate legacy systems that did not give a unified view of the entire operations. New Era Technology used SAP ECC as the backend system, with SAP XI as the middleware and SharePoint as the frontend application. The ECC application stored the frontend updates, and the middleware catered to the data exchange in the required XML format. The Business intelligence platform used SQL Server Reporting Services, Tableau, and Power BI to display the key analytics and data fields the Client required.
The solution included the “Predictive Analytics” feature that assessed past data and gave a futuristic projection of the data patterns to efficiently manage future demand and target specific markets and customers at the right time. It could be easily accessed even on a tablet, anytime and anywhere.
New Era’s competent solution gave the Client a holistic overview of room revenue, occupancy, type, and nationality of guests, amongst other vital parameters. It also included a feature to track and optimize F&B costs and account receivables and payables across various divisions, with all the above parameters captured and analyzed across different years.
With the Business Intelligence solution giving the Client a centralized view of all their essential KPIs and intuitive futuristic projections, the Client accrued the vital benefits of efficient planning, optimization, and setting the stage for future-ready operations, all driven by key data parameters.
It gave insights into new business opportunities, understanding guests and spending patterns using intuitive “What-if “ analysis to derive accurate insights, and led to efficient tracking and management.
The use of predictive analytics data enabled the Client to make several changes to its pricing policy, including:

Decreasing specific midweek rates while increasing rates on weekends and other busy dates
- Pulling back certain discounts on specific dates when they didn’t need the extra promotions
- Yielding by casino segment to identify higher value players and implementing variable casino cash and complementary pricing actions, such as free drinks or hotel rooms
- Maintaining rate parity between third parties and direct channels, such as the hotel website, call center, and walk-in guests.
- Expanding third-party distribution to include additional OTAs and wholesalers
The successful implementation of the solution gave the Client a 30% increase in cash revenue and a 10% increase in ADR and grew its occupancy rates by 4.5%.
