Upcoming scheduled maintenance on our infrastructure

As part of New Era’s ongoing planned maintenance and proactive data centre services improvement, we are commencing a hardware upgrade to critical network infrastructure in the Melbourne region. This upgrade will ensure ongoing continuity of service and improve upon the redundancy and reliability of the networking services that we provide to our South-East customers.

Date and time:

Window Duration: 5 Hours
Works will commence at: 11:00PM AEST, Tuesday June 27th
Works will complete by: 4:00AM AEST, Wednesday June 28th

Detailed Information:

This planned upgrade will involve an outage to all network services supplied from our Collins St (Vocus and 5G Networks) facilities while hardware is replaced. This has been planned well outside of normal business operating hours to minimise the impact on customers.

Works will include replacement of switching infrastructure in both our POPs at this location, with a 5 hour outage window allowed. During this time, there will be a complete loss of network access to all services in Collins St, Melbourne.

Impact to customers:

These works will impact you and network services to the following products will be offline during the maintenance period covering the above facilities – excluding those where you have a dedicated internet supply not managed by Intervolve:

  • IaaS/VPS Services
  • Backup and DR
  • Dedicated servers
  • Co-located Servers
  • Internet transit services
  • Cross-Connects
  • Hosted Firewall Services
  • Web hosting
  • Mail Filtering

All existing functionality will be retained after the upgrade, and New Era Technology staff will be conducting thorough testing throughout and after the completion of the upgrade. No action is required from you throughout this window, however we recommend that you confirm your services are operational once the completion notification is sent.
