In the office or at home, the collaboration experience is always great

Prior to the pandemic most office-based people would think of video collaboration as a last resort. In today’s hybrid workplace however, as employees come back to the office, the traditional meeting room is going to change. We will see more huddle rooms for smaller meetings and updated technology to leverage camera tracking and real time language translation to AI enabled active speaker tracking for example.

Driven by the last 18 months of change the video collaboration experience has vastly changed. We can now collaborate with people from around the world whilst keeping traveling costs down thanks to it. Therefore, we predict that we will continue to see more people using video collaboration solutions and ask for fitted solutions with real-time monitoring and advanced management tools that are able to address issues before it effect the user.

MFA

As we grow accustomed to collaboration, we will see a rise in cyber-criminals potentially using spear-phishing by video and on third-party messaging platforms. By requiring multi-factor authentication (MFA) wherever possible, you will create more certainty that the person using the username and password is who they claim to be. Integration across meeting services

The complexity of making calls across different meeting services can make it difficult to fully adopt it into your workplace. The consequences can be that people choose to work on less-than-ideal devices, or use a variety of different applications, not provided by the company. A modern collaboration solution shall be able to cater for meetings across all available web conferencing services, such as Zoom, Teams, Webex, GoToMeeting and more, whilst providing full support.

Meeting rooms designed for video collaboration

At home we can join video calls from the sofa, but in an office, you might need dedicated rooms with a setup designed with the best experience in mind. Nowadays you can add tools to make self-service easier, or even have your meeting rooms designed for your specific needs. We see a future where the need for high quality video calls will grow greater in situations where physical meetings are not an option. Virtual court rooms are an example. It proves our point of the need for collaboration technology, and how it has opened new doors – and that it is here to stay!
