Primrose Hill C of E Primary Academy in Gloucester have been using SchoolPing since the beginning of 2020. We caught up with Head Teacher Emma Mignaud, to find out how SchoolPing has helped the school achieve more effective communication as well as saving them thousands of pounds each year.
How did you previously communicate with your parents and what products were you using?
Mostly paper-based letters, questionnaires etc. We also used a text messaging solution.
What was your main reason for choosing SchoolPing?
Moving away from costly and limited text messages. Plus, we were finding that paper-based communication gets lost and left in the bottom of bags! Also, the option to design and create forms/questionnaires so parents can reply immediately, and the office can collate the results at a touch of a button was a deal clincher for us. The parents evening booking feature is especially useful! More recently we have been using the forms for things like school meals and during the current COVID19 pandemic.
How much do you estimate you have saved on printing and texting costs using SchoolPing?
We estimate that we will save up to £3,000 this year on printing and text costs.
How has SchoolPing helped the office team?
It has saved them hours of time! There is no need for them to photocopy and distribute letters around the classes. It has also saved time inputting and collating results of questionnaires, parents evenings and forms!
How has the parents evening booking feature streamlined this process for you?
It’s made it effortless! The parents simply pick their times and the app takes care of the rest. It requires minimal input by the office team now, which is great!
How has your parent community reacted to SchoolPing?
Our parents love it!
What has been the biggest benefit to your school since implementing SchoolPing?
Much better lines of communication which has been invaluable during the current situation. Being able to see which parents have read the message has been especially useful as we know who to remind about events etc.
