A time-consuming mixture of communication tools exchanged for one simple and cost-effective application

The concepts explore, create and connect are important at Langenhoe Community Primary School, based in Essex. However, the connection between parents and teachers needed a boost so they decided to switch to SchoolPing.

Previously we had one solution for text messages, one for emails and one for payments. Now we have it all in one application, making life so much easier for both staff members and parents.

Combining services into one solution meant that the school are now saving up to £2,000 per year as well as seeing a much more efficient way of sending group messages and collecting replies to forms and surveys.

The built-in solution for booking parents’ evenings means less paperwork for us and it is more accessible to all and therefore fairer for parents to get appointments that suit them. Before they had to physically come into the school entrance hall and sign up, which meant some parents missed out if they didn’t come to pick-up themselves.

Parents and carers have taken to using the system well, with the biggest benefit for all being quicker communication. This has been particularly helpful for short notice events and news such as school closures.

What do you use the SchoolPing ‘Forms’ system for?

It has been good for lunch menus; parents can easily complete choices and submit them to us. We also use it for consent forms, parent surveys, for acknowledging policies/documents, booking trips and staff training. Basically, to replace paper forms we would usually send out.

SchoolPing has also proven helpful throughout the pandemic. It has meant the leadership team has been able to easily communicate to all staff and parents throughout, whether they were working from home or in school.

It has been invaluable. We were able to create groups for children in school to communicate booking for attendance and other information and used it for passing on home learning information to all parents.
